Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta was bilingual from the time she turned nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first job as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. She worked with the producers of National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues drugs, immigration, as well as various other topics on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Also, she was a Spanish reporter for the newscast of 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter of the newscast of 9 p.m. with a reporter and anchor in English and an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. Also, she would fill in at times as a news and sport anchor. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1984 in Mexico City. There is a sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In the course of a few months, her father separated from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. When on vacation Antonietta spent the time at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Antonietta still a senior at high school and had a clear idea of the path she was looking for. When she was deciding whether Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the school. In the end, she fell in love with the university. And they offered her an academic major. After graduation, she attended the university as a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was a friend. He inspired her to believe in herself and his passion for journalism deeply affected her. She in turn, strived to live up to the expectations of him and not failed him.
